Nevada State College
Las Vegas, Nevada
Ledcor completed the Nursing, Science & Education Building, the Student Activities and Administration Building, and the Central Plant for Nevada State College (NSC) as part of a project to triple the size of the campus.

Ledcor worked collaboratively with NSC and project architect PGAL to complete the project in time for the new school year. This partnership focused on a common goal: to build a campus that creates the best learning environment possible for a student population where nearly 40 percent are first-generation college students.

The 66,000 sq. ft. Nursing, Science & Education building features 17 state-of-the-art classrooms and science laboratories, two cadaver labs, a 250-seat auditorium, and associated faculty offices and staff spaces. A roof terrace was incorporated to provide access for the astronomy department.

The Student Activities & Administration Building is a 61,000 sq. ft. building with a full service café, a bookstore, a campus library, student government, student services, the registrar and financial aid offices, IT services, and video production spaces.

The Central Plant is a 5,000 sq. ft. facility serving the other two buildings with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and pumps facilities. The building includes space for future expansion.

The three buildings were successfully completed on time and under budget, and the project was awarded first place for Excellence in Construction by the Nevada Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.
